Bronson
Supposedly true dramatisation of the story of Charles Bronson (the prisoner). Saw this last night on the strength of my mate showing me the trailer on her iPhone and a minute or two of 'go on come with us'. I enjoyed it a fair bit, some of it was quite interesting and made you think a bit but most of it was mindless enjoyment. It didn't really seem to have a start or an end, so much as just being 'there' which was a bit odd feeling but didn't detract too much from the enjoyment as it didn't feel like it needed a 'conclusion' so to speak. 8/10, i'd happily sit through it again.

Saw
7/10 Bought the Saw Quadrilogy and the fifth one for Rob for his birthday. Tried watching this one before... after 'watching*' it last night it wasn't that bad really (scarywise) but they are supposed to get worse right? Didn't realise that Miles and Ben from Lost are in it. BB x *'Watching' involves playing The Sims 2 on one's laptop, whilst glancing up now and again above your glasses |

Would love to see this but don't know anyone that would want to go. I have Bronson's prison workout book and it's completely mental!

Enchanted
Cartoon snow white/sleeping beauty type character, Giselle (Amy Adams), lives in a house with all her friendly creatures that help her with the housework and is waiting for her "True Love's Kiss" (and sings about it) Prince Edward (James Marsden) hears her singing and is desperate to meet his True Love and "True Love's Kiss" (and yes, he sings the same song about it spontaneously too) They meet, "fall in love", and are to be married the very next day. Prince Edward's step mother, the Queen, is unhappy about this as she'll have to surrender her crown should this marriage occur, so she sends Giselle into modern day New York, where everything changes from cartoon to real life filming. Prince Edward comes to rescue her. The film gets many little laughs from the naivety of Giselle and her view of how the world should work and contrasting it to a modern New York, and especially her slow learning of how love really works upon meeting a rather cynical Divorce Lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) In the end though, it's quite a lovely little film, charming and with laughs for people of all ages without feeling like they thought "Oh.. just put in a joke here for adults" or whatever. In many regards it still remains true to it's Disney roots, never really hits you with deep concepts or characters, just good ol' fashioned entertainment. 8/10

The Happening.
After a few people state that is was bobbins, I thought "What the hell" and watched it. I can now say for certainty that they were correct. Could have been a good film but just seemed 'meh'. I couldn't have cared less if anyone lived or died and the ending just seemed like a total cop out. Shayamlalalalananalanalan really needs do nothing for a while and stop writing crap. 3/10 |

The Watchmen.
A comic for adults and most certainly a movie for adults, it's a very dark realisation from page to screen and surprised even me with its violence, which I was very happy with, it certainly sets it apart from the others. It's brilliantly acted, has a very deep plot and the characters are superb. I don't want to say too much incase I spoil anything for anyone, but I'd recommend it to anyone. 9/10 |

Night Watch
Starring
6/10 It was fairly entertaining with some decent performances but the ending felt a bit too rushed and the story itself jumped about a bit too much in places but I'm still looking forward to watching Day Watch. Incidentally I did watch Con Air the next day after The Bridge On The River Kwai, I've still got no idea who suggested that Nicholas Cage should do a Southern accent but whoever they are, they are a genius.

Saw II, III, IV and V
All gets very confusing :/ but I think I got it in the end. Clowns, gore, guts, blood, traps, cassette recorders and puzzles. 7/10 for all of them... all quite clever, when I was watching 3 I thought it was getting a bit far fetched. BB x |

Ghostbusters
Starring
9/10 It's very 80s, very cheesy and no less brilliant for that. This was from back when Dan Akroyd was funny, films like this (Dragnet and Blues Brothers too) show how far he's fallen.
