Time for a rant.
Guitar Hero... A year or so ago I finished GHII on hard and GHIII on medium all 5 stars and on hard except after 100+ goes I just couldn't beat Lou. ..forward to now.. I finished GH:WT on hard. Pretty straight forward and I quite enjoyed it. On Bass on expert I've managed to finish all the songs then hit the last one before the encore and bam. The usual GH trick of suddenly really ramping up the difficulty. Had 20 or so goes and go out at the same point. I think with a little practice and no kids running around me I'll do it though. So I thought, with all this additional practice let's go back to Lou. Fired it up and much better, I'm pretty much pulling off all the solo stuff now with ease and then Wham, Lou hits me with a double up, I somehow manage to stay in it and even pick up the attack, which I hit him with and he shrugs off with ease. 4 or so more attacks on me and I'm out though. 10 more goes and a similar story. I cannot believe how hard this is; it's random which attacks he sends at you and some are game enders, any attacks I send at him have negligible effect. I don't think I've played anything quite so demoralising. It's the first time in ages I've come close to smashing the guitar and disc up. Do the GH developers have no idea how to finish games? I agree the finales should be tough but they shouldn't feel out of reach. It's one thing the Rock Band guys have always got right, GHII and Rock Band were much better at progressing the difficulty. |

I really struggled with the battles until i realized you can stack up 3 'attacks' and use them all at once. The result of this is just hang on till your opponent hits a difficult bit, hit them with all three attacks and they'll fail.
This tactic actually becomes more effective the higher the difficulty as they miss more notes in the time it takes them to shrug off all three attacks. This does rely on luck somewhat however as three rubbish attacks at once won't do much, i just keep trying again until i happen to get three good ones stacked.

Same here. It must have taken me 5 months to beat Lou, though I went some time between goes. The secret is just staying alive long enough to reach Johnny's solo with 2-3 attacks stacked up, and using them at the right time.

Cheers guys I'll give this a go though I never seem to be able to handle all the attacks to see me through to get 3 of my own. I'm stubborn though so I won't give in; well, not yet anyway.

I'll be spending much of the long weekend playing Silent Hill Homecoming. Fell behind a bit with my review deadline for it And need to crack on.
Pity it just doesn't feel overly special :/

Call of duty: United offensive expansion pack.
Stuck on a bit at the moment, I have to snipe 8 people with anti tank weapons, from a bell tower, before they can damage our tanks. Much harder than it sounds, because the scope on my gun has no crosshair, and I keep getting shot at by light and heavy machineguns. |

It's what always happens when a game series is handed over to new developers. When a concept is concieved by someone they have a whole image of their invention and because of this it is realized to the best of the developers abilities, along with that they can better cultivate it in future titles as it is their idea they know exactly how it works and how they can build on it. When a new developer gets his hands on an idea all they have access to is what has been done, the ideas, visions and understanding of the world in which the game takes place are lost.
Same can be seen with so many other games in the past, as soon as they're handed over to new people they become lost.
