Bryan Singer attached to BSG Movie
http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/2008-12-...-for-universal
Which sounded like a fan-bloody-tastic piece of news until I got over myself and read the article. Looks like it's unattached to the recent TV series. Which is generally accepted to be a work of brilliance which I got thoroughly engrossed in. The story arc got completed and the spinoffs are in production and eagerly anticipated. Is there really a good reason to 'reimagine' BSG again so soon? So here's the question. Do I trust Bryan Singer not to get involved with what appears to be a studio money grabbing excercise?

Hmmm, i've always wondered if he wanted to do a prequel to the series in the form of the original cylon war. It could make a pretty good storyline tbh, the creation of the cylons and their eventual uprising, maybe that's what he's got in mind? Also it could still be based around galactica as obviously it played a pivotal role in the original war.

I was under the impression that Caprica told a story of the creation of the cylons alone, after a bit of reading it seems it also includes the uprising. However there's no mention of the war itself so that still leaves a rather large hole in the BSG 'timeline' that could potentially be filled.

Does anyone else think this is rather early to be doing another BSG show?

Nope, it will be a standalone series, ala Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars. Timing only really matters if the series directly relate to each other like Prison Break.

Given he's talking about a whole new imaging of the universe, totally un-related to the only just finished current one... YES. Way too stupidly early to do a new-new-new version of BSG.
