I can't remember what it was called but me and my old flat mate used to go to for a Ruby after the pub. Our favourite dish was a creamy, coconutty almost Korma but a bit spicier and with apricot in the sauce. Was awesome.

Served with

Peshwari naan
Mutter paneer (Cheesy peas!)
Pilau rice

and keep the poppadoms and pickles coming till we can eat no more.

Nom.

*wants curry*

Oooh crikey, my eyes are always far too big for my stomach when I'm ordering a takeaway. I would go for something like lamb rogan josh, bhuna or biryani with a garlic/coriander naan (or spinach/potato naan which I've recently discovered) and plain old pilau rice. I'd look for someone to share an onion bhaji with and also love saag aloo and tarka dhal. Mmmmm! We never have an Indian takeaway between the two of us.

Incidentally, it's my Grandad's birthday this weekend and we're doing a curry night for him. My Mum, brother's girlfriend and I are all making various bits so it's going to be a proper feast.

I've not quite decided on what I'm going to do yet for the main curry part, but I'll definitely be making some garlic & coriander naan breads & veggie samosas. My favourite meat for a curry is lamb, but my brother's gf doesn't like it Might do it anyway... she doesn't have to eat it

I'm eagerly awaiting Madhur Jaffrey's Indian Cookbook, which I ordered earlier in the week.

Oooh Spinach and Potato naan sounds good

The Madhur Jaffrey book is really good love reading cookbooks even though I never actually cook most of the stuff.

I've got one of her easy ones, which is great but this one got tonnes of good reviews so I thought I'd go for it Might get her curry bible at some point too
