I'm the same - if necessary I'll read a receipe and then completely ignore the measurements and stuff, thats part of the fun of making the "your own creation"

I love cooking as long as I have the time

Mic can't cook and its his mothers fault - when he was a kid and they did cookery at school, anything he bought home got thrown away without even a taste - kinda made him think "whats the point" and has therefore never really learnt

That looks great Dym

I would have accompanied that with a nice salad though - but I like my big fresh french salads

Just cooked a variation of this for Mei and Jarp...

Added nothing to the mash (whilst mashing it), peaked it over the virtually bolognese sauce and then dumped some butter, parmesan and black pepper on the top before throwing it in the oven

Didn't let it cool enough before the oven or cook it on a high enough heat so it didn't get all crispy on top but it was still yummy

Even bit my tongue when Mei suggested cooking it with baked beans and sliced up frankfurters!

I do have a lovely glass of Kumala atm though

Reading this thread has made me hungry again - been sooo long since I had a home-made Shepherds pie!

Well considering you came down to my borough, ignored me and then forked off up north again without so much as a bye-your-leave...
