Any chance you're running WPA2 on the O2 Wireless box? IIRC whilst WPA2 is better than WPA I had to set the network up at my parents house as WPA so that their Palm PDAs could connect to it.

Definitely running WPA and not WPA2.
There's a drop down menu to choose which type and it offers WPA, WPA2 and WPA+WPA2... And shouldn't you be getting married rather than faffing about on t'interweb!?

Encryption type?
I had to manually set TKIP (machine end) rather than the default AES to connect to my O2 box that was set to WPA

Pretty sure it only gave the option of TKIP when I tried to manually enter the settings...
Even then it wouldn't connect though.

You were right, this one is dead easy to answer.
The DWL-520+ doesn't support any version of WPA. You could use WEP, but I'd strongly advise you don't. Time for a new network card. This is a very common problem with old 802.11b cards. Last edited by Mark; 07-11-2009 at 17:42. |

Interesting...
Sure I had it working with WPA-PSK on my old Netgear router when the mediabox was running XP. I could be mistaken though... Will get a new card, seems to be the best/only option Cheers Mark!

It's possible. The early days of WPA were notorious for compatibility issues because unlike WEP and WPA2, WPA wasn't originally part of a ratified wi-fi standard and was implemented by consensus (some manufacturers having more consensus than others).
