I've used it. Can't say more than that in reliability terms. I did note that it completely ignores security - say hello to full root access from Windows.

Ext2 support in Windows was fairly terrible when I ran it!
I upped the drive in this laptop (Latitude E6500) to a 320Gb 7200rpm drive, the difference in speed is remarkable! |

I bunged a 7200 rpm drive in my M1710. I wouldn't say the speed difference was remarkable but it was noticeable. It's one of those things that probably won't make a huge difference in real terms but, if cost isn't a problem, you may as well do it.
As far as heat is concerned, I didn't notice any significant rise in heat - but then, the M1710 is like a portable blast furnace anyway so it would take a significant temperature jump to be noticeable.

Well I've got my new drive in
Got Ubuntu and Win7 installed so far and have to say I'm glad I went for the faster drive. It could just be my imagination, but I'm sure things are installing far faster and archives are decompressing much faster too.
