Default Personal Ice rink

I now have one the roads on my estate refuse to even slightly thaw out and thus makes driving not fun. Barely managed to get out of my car park and up the very slight slope earlier, no matter what I did the wheels couldn't get traction getting home was just as fun.

If it doesn't get any better I might not go into work tomorrow.

Still no snow though

I have snow and an ice rink! Hah!

Really not looking forward to going out to work tomorrow. It'll be a taxi again, but just getting from the door to the taxi is bad enough.

Was that with snow chains/tyres, or just normal stuff?

PS - I've re-hosted the file in the UK as Boomspeed was anything but speedy for me - link (should work for the next month or so)

They've had 14" of snow in the Washington DC area. We've got guys stuck in and out of data centers. Some poor sods have been there 24 hours+ because although they could get out of the centers they couldn't actually get home, and the lack of replacement staff means they're sleeping there to help cover.

Ouch, unlucky.

It'll be interesting to see if we get any reports from the office in Rockville (not far from DC) tomorrow.

Um, that was with tyres that I was using the wear indicators as tread... Chains and studded tyres are illegal in Minnesota. *

They were about 5 years old, bald as hell and as hard as rocks.

Oh, and in sore need of a front end alignment.

* If you're caught with them on the car they'll pull you over, ask you to step out of the car then lock it and close the doors. You're left standing there to watch as the wrecker comes and tows your car to the impound lot and you don't get it back until you bring in the proper tyres. They're quite anal about it.
