Agreed with Burbles. Nicely specced and nice place to be, good visibility and actually quite a good car, however it's hugely let down by the way it drives.

Oh its totally different to the MINI but I can't afford a Q7 and I don't want an X5 so what do you do? The answer would be to compromise and get something a lot lower and less convenient. Don't think I'm trying to be awkward its just my priorities have now shifted significantly, whatever we go for has to be inexpensive to run, inexpensive to repair as our income will be slashed for a year whilst Heather is off work, if you have a solution which isn't a secondhand BMW or Mondeo then I'd be happy to hear it, not that they aren't good cars they just aren't me and they don't have the ride height I want.

Believe me my expectations have shifted radically, I've driven the QashQai and its fine, no its not exciting or engaging but its comfy and has a reasonable amount of the right type of room.
My priorites have shifted radically, I no longer need something with a hard ride and which goes around corners at pace, I need room and comfort for long rides, for me it isn't an issue but I don't really expect other people to understand how little the performance and fast handling mean to me now. 3-5 years and I might me looking at Audi S3s and MINIs again, hell 12 months and I might be looking at the MINI Crossman which looks ideal for me. Well following your mini + 3K that is around 16K and there are ones around on autotrader for that price with what you are after in your area (though I did just google for a maidstone postcode )

Can you not get what you want in a slightly older but fully loaded Range Rover et al.?

Surely they are expensive to run and repair?

Yeah, its do-able, so far I have driven the Rav4 and the QQ, I've been driven in the S-Max (bleugh!) and been in the CRV (nice inside)
I might have a look at the Kuga, I've never had a Ford, they've never really apealled and I get the feeling I'd prefer a RAV but its worth a look. MB |
