Default Issues with a web host I don't want anymore

Right, so I got an email last night (or friday night) whilst out on the beer telling me that my hosting account is up for renewal and my card transaction had been declined (old card details)

So today I ordered a new hosting package with vidahost after a recommendation from Jen and asked my current host - streamline.net - if they would change the IPS tag on my domain.
I've just heard back from SL - they say that because there is this 'outstanding bill' on my account they cannot change anything on my account.

Any ideas what I can do about this/where I stand etc?

What are the oustanding bills for? Did you pay your last month service?

I've been with them for the past few years, the 'outstanding bill' is for another 12 months service - which I don't want.

They have said;
Quote:
The only way to transfer the doamin is through your Account Control Panel. Unfortuantely, this has been suspended due to the outstanding payment you have in your account. If you have wished not to continue any services you have with us, you should have informed us ahead of time to cancel the account. This is clearly stated in our terms & conditions. Thus, the domain cannot be transferred without clearing the outstanding payment.

Kind Regards,

I didn't get a reminder that my account was due for renewal though, just an email at 03:34 this morning saying 'Hosting renewal for marksweb.co.uk was declined'

Well i decided they weren't going to help so just paid nominet and everything is now moving along nicely.
I'd forgotten how awesome cPanel is!! might need to go and leave some neg feedback around the web against streamline now... oh and i need to remember to give them a month or so notice when the warriors site comes up for renewal later in the year - not leaving the club on their servers when i leave!

If you haven't used any of their services outside of what you've already paid for, you owe them nothing. However if it's an auto renewal or whatever and you've gone into a new service, even just a few days, you technically owe money (will only be a small amount) but their automatic system will prevent migration on accounts with any amount outstanding.
