Death Proof
Starring
7/10 It's trashy, it's a bit meandering (will someone please remind Tarantino that good editing of a film makes it better) and it's just plain silly in lots of places yet despite that I enjoyed it as I do most Tarantino films.

The Last Starfighter
8/10 Classic, cheesy fun. College age kid stuck on a trailer park, going nowhere fast, completes an arcade machine (with the entire trailer park, mainly old gray wrinkly folk, all gathered around him cheering him on?!) Arcade machine turns out to be a recruitment device for the universe's space patrol and it's up to our hero to save the universe from the evil forces out to destroy everyone.

Being a bit behind, just watched 2012. Not sure if it was meant to be a comedy, but that's what it was. 2/10, except for the bit where they flew the animals in.

Captain America
I saw this was on Hulu streaming (US only, unfortunately ) so grabbed a watch this afternoon. This is the film from 1990, a rather low-budget affair with mainly unknown actors. So awful... it's great. Bad acting, bad FX, awful fight sequences, cheesy dialogue, possibly the worst version of Captain America ever conceived. I LOVED IT.

Law Abiding Citizen
An everyday guy decides to take justice into his own hands after a plea bargain sets his family's killers free. His target: The district attorney who orchestrated the deal. 9/10 OMG this is stunning. a Bit gruesome and absolutely crazy. Pure awesomeness.

Saw Hot Tub Time Machine last night.
Whilst I agree the storyline is not that brilliant, I really REALLY enjoyed the lgight heartedness of this film. It was totally a zone out and gross out film with some parts that I laughed at that I cannot explain why! As a film, it did kinda suck; as part of an entertaining evening, it was excellent! Basically if you saw it as a series of comedy sketches, then it was fine. If you wanted an enthralling plot, you'd have wasted your time. After a day of work, I wanted entertaining, and it served! 8/10 |
