Now I'm married and we have all sorts of photos and things on our computers I want to get into doing regular backups onto another machine. I have a Windows XP Pro machine with plenty of drive space and my copy of windows 7 Pro the backup software is fine. But Em's laptop has Vista Basic which doesn't have backup to a network drive option
![]() Any thoughts of a reasonably priced bit of easy to use software to do the deed of a complete backup to network drive and with a bit of luck incremental backups after that? Ta ![]() |

If you can turn a spare PC into a windows home server you can do everything automatically, and its very very very good once set up nice

What do I need to do that Alex? Is XP Pro enough? And does the laptop having vista basic matter?
Ta ![]() Otherwise just had a look at trueimage and looks like it'll do the business ![]() |

You need a home server version of windows, and the connector software will install on any windows PC/laptop and any OS that can talk with samba as well really...

It just works. Sure it's a powerful and versatile piece of software, but the first three words are the most important ones. FWIW It's never EVER let me down.....and as a piece of PC software that's a rare sentence to be able to say.
