Windows, sony walkman and mp3 file.
Is there anyway I can sync windows media player with my Sony walkman so that all the music files are stored as Mp3 files instead of the wma files? The wma files appear to eat up more space than mp3.
I originally recorded them as mp3, but when I synced it with wmp, it changed all and stored everything as wmp. Anyway to go about this please?

Yes, stop using Windows Media Player!
One of my many pet peeves - recompressing already compressed music. Unless the original source is lossless (FLAC, ALAC, or APE), the inevitable result is worse quality than if you'd gone direct to that format. If you have the original source MP3 files, then try something like MediaMonkey that supports syncing with more formats than just WMA. |

Lol. Yeah I am looking at media monkey now.
The annoying thing is that the Original music were in mp3 on the walk man, but it managed to changed everything over to wma. I am not sure how to do all the conversion back now. Any idea? Will media monkey be up to such task?

You don't want to convert back. That's just heaping quality loss upon quality loss. If you don't have the originals I suggest leaving them alone.

That means a purchase of larger storage walkman.
Thanks though. I won't be using wmp anymore lol.
