Honestly I has the displeasure of having to watch this whilst in holland, and i think 5 is kind! There is NOTHING to this film, i don't understand the name, it doesn't even have anything to do with Red Riding Hood! She wears red, and there is one (ridiculous!) scene where they cite the little rhyme, cringe worthy from start to finish, but as you say i guess i'm not their target audience, the girlfriend wasn't the slightest impressed either though

Felt exactly the same, was looking forward to this, and for some reason it just failed to grab me, and was limp and boring... Can't quite say why, but unimpressive...

Really didn't like this film, the main character made some totally unbelievable decisions which ruined what could have been a good film.

I'd forgotten i'd actually watched this film But now you rate it, i checked the trailer and remember it, i actually thought it was pretty damn good, well executed, the ending was a little sour i guess, i'd rate this higher than Red Riding Hood anyway

Love it. Been waiting to sit down and watch this for ages and never got around to it. I love the whole setting. Yes, the apartheid connection is there, but it was just so nice to see something like this NOT going on in America. I like the whole mix of normal filming along with some fly on the wall documentary style. The level of action was just about right, not too constant or over the top and it kept the pace up when needed but also backed out totally to allow you to see a slightly softer and deeper side to some of the characters. I try not to get too in-depth with films and just want to come away having enjoyed it...and this I did

Beautiful beautiful film to watch! Really do love this for just being different in it's own right. Top class random film to recommend!

A decent enough film but not sure I'd recommend it to others.

This really caught me, and seeing the helicopter arrive honestly nearly had me bawling in the cinema for the first time since i was a nipper, really not sure why, as some people have said it drags on the same place for too long. But i disagree, i really really for some reason became deeply emotionally attached to this film!

Exactly how i'd put it, its what you obviously expect and sill, but if it wasn't or it was too clever it would actually be terrible! I agree, i'm not one for will ferrell films or the like in most cases find them tedious but the inbetweeners has caught me off guard and i love it. I think it helps that the first series was released only a few years after i left school and could possibly relate in silly ways, i think there is a whole generation like me who were easily exploited into liking this franchise. But i don't care, its genius!

Friends with Benefits 8/10

Witty, smart. Lots of nekkid Justin Trousersnake for the girls and Mila Kunis for the boys. They make a cute couple and there were some real LOL moments

Lars and the Real Girl

8/10

Ryan Gosling,
Emily Mortimer,
Paul Schneider,
A sex doll!?!

Ryan Gosling is on top form playing a socially awkward loner in a small town, who lives in his brother's converted garage. One day he introduces his brother and sister-in-law to his new girlfriend, a tall, wheelchair bound, brunette.. 'real' sex doll, who he believes is real, interested in her not for sex but something deep and meaningful.

What follows is a really beautifully acted tale focusing around Lars and his relationship, and the small town that goes along with the delusion to support the sweet-natured guy they've always loved.

Well worth a watch, I thought the premise was odd but saw a few people on twitter highly recommending it, and now I know why. Kari and I both enjoyed it very much

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Hmmm... if you like arty, atmospheric thrillers, then this should be on your list. The acting is first rate, the sets and locations are all suitably dark and sinister and the cinematography is spot on. It is really a great film in many respects.

However, it just didn't quite engage me for some reason. It's not in any way a bad film, but at one stage I did find myself wondering how much longer there was to go. It felt a fairly long film. Not, by any means, one where I found myself thinking of other things, or counting the tiles on the ceiling, just that, while gripping and enjoyable, I knew I was sitting in the cinema watching a film, if you get what I mean? It didn't whisk me along with it. It's not a lack of action per se, it is, after all, a thriller, it's just all a bit..... slow....

Jane Eyre

Nicely filmed, nicely executed, well acted. A bit girly for me, but the wife enjoyed it.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Wow honestly it actually felt like i was sitting an exam that i failed! I walk out after still trying to piece a lot together, i don't know why but i seriously struggled to follow this.

It seemed to jump back and fourth and between characters and my poor brain couldn't keep up. Normally i LOVE these films, i just felt stupid watching this!

I feel like i should be an amazing film, but i think i should do my homework before i watch it next!

It's getting some stunning reviews though, and RT gives it 97%! But not sure if i could recommend it to many of my friends, i know for a fact most of them would probably hate it... It's a strange situation!

It is definitely one of those films where they try to say as much with a blank stare, or a twitch of the lips, as they do with the actual dialogue. I didn't really have any trouble following it though... I just thought it was a bit heavy going.

You should read the book, it's captivating. I love John le Carre books though.

I didn't have any trouble following it either. Seemed relatively straight forward to me. It did feel like a pretty adult thriller in that it didn't bother with any of the hand holding things like titles along the bottom telling you what time/place they're in etc but that's what I liked about it. There's definitely a big focus on looks as well as what they say which I love. Really demonstrates how great the acting is in the film too. While I don't always want something that requires concentration, other times it's good to be treated intelligently.

I've not read the book or seen the original series but ordered the series and will no doubt pick up the book at some point as it certainly piqued my interest enough!

Exactly. Exactly my experience. The end fell flat for me too. Acting was superb, but tbh I was bored...and I'm not someone who needs a lot of action to keep me entertained so I dont know what it was. I like to be treated intelligently too and get bored with obvious plotlines or films with holes in, so it's not that. I just know it didn't engage me. Some bits were engrossing in the middle but it didn't flow well for me at all.
