LOL! You've basically said what I try to say in about 100x less words.

Of course. And you should never underestimate the value of a wing-woman.

I think Will's hit the nail on the head.
If the question is whether a man and a woman can just be friends without anything 'more' then of course they can. A bigger question is whether they can just be friends without either having any additional 'interest' or sexual desire/yearning for the other. I think this situation is much much rarer but it does happen. Circumstances are sometimes everything too. I've formed a close friendship with someone this year who's literally half my age and I think that fact has actually helped. If we were of a similar age then who knows, maybe there'd be some 'interest' between us but, as it is, there just isn't and it's never an issue - we're more like brother and sister and refer to each other as such and I actually find it very rewarding to have a female friend where there's no hint or possibility of anything more 'hanging over' us if that makes sense.

Erm, it seems like you kinda are saying that, by saying ladies can have man friends, but not the other way around. Am I not reading it right or something?

It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. |

I've always seen it that men and women can be friends, with no sexual feelings between the two. Most of my friends are girls, so if I didn't see things that way, and wanted to jump all of them, i'd be a pretty depressed person.
Friends with ex's is the one that I find the weirder one to answer, as i'm friends with one of mine, but not another, despite the latter ending on much better terms.

There is probably always going to be some 'desire' between 2 people of opposite genders (or the same if gay).
I think you can still have really close friendships with the opposite gender. My two best friends of about 7-8 years are both female & have been on holidays, etc with no problems what so ever. They aren't the sort of people I would want to live with, have children with, etc, but are still brilliant friends. Not sure if that makes sense but hey-ho

For the record I think they (men & women) can be close friends. Just as well really or else bisexuals would have an absolute nightmare |
