Karate Kid (2010)
This is the one with Jayden Smith in. Quite simply the biggest steaming pile of turd I have had the misfortune to put in the PS3. The yardie take on this drove me bonkers and after 35mins I turned it off (which included skipping forward to see if it improved). It was meant to be 2hrs 15mins long. 2/10 Ip man 1 & 2 Now this is a martial arts film! Starring Donnie Yen. With some outstanding set pieces throughout along with a story. Yip man trained many students, one of which was Bruce Lee. This is his story during and after WW2 before Bruce became his student. If you like your martial arts films, get both of these films 9/10 |

Loved number 1, haven't seen 2 yet. My only criticism about 1 is that it's blatant Chinese Communist propaganda

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
Just been to see this today and really enjoyed it. It's a long film at over two hours but held my interest constantly. A few good action set-pieces, decent amount of humour and 'silly' tech as usual. Was a bit wary about the new 'ensemble' but they gelled pretty well. 8/10

Was good, made me laugh a few times as well, and had me covering my eyes with the bits involving climbing up/down the building. |

28 Weeks Later
Utterly awful and nowhere near as brilliant as the first film Random things that made no sense (children able to sneak out, mum left unguarded) and also the totally unexplained ability of Robert Carlyle in zombie mode to be selective about his hunting of a very specific target..... Very disappointing 3/10

Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Just could be more impressed with this film. Absolutely loved every last bit of it, even though Cineworld apparently had a fire, yet didn't sound an alarm and just left us all confused in the cinema. Didn't even evacuate us before the fire brigade arrived and gave all clear! Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read! Even better they restarted the film "5 minutes back to make sure nothing is missed" to start just a few seconds before the rape scene! Just wow, seriously they haven't got a clue there... End Spoiler Alert! |

In Time
Utterly fascinating concept which I found really intriguing and threw up all sorts of "oh yeah" moments. The film wasn't quite as action-oriented as I was expecting but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Plot was a bit formulaic and predictable but I still really enjoyed it. For anyone interested, the basic concept/premise is below - explained very early anyway so doesn't really spoil anything. Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read! Aging has been beaten. At 25, physical aging stops and your clock starts, with a year to begin. When the clock hits zero you die. All currency is time, you earn it, trade it, pay for things with it. The poor live day to day, hour to hour, whilst the rich are basically immortal. End Spoiler Alert! 7/10
