I hope nobody was at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth on Monday.
My shameful display, including my "big points" events (200m - 26.3, LJ - 5.15m. PB's 23.7 and 6.41m) followed by my calves telling me that enough was enough after 900m of the final event, quite possibly the most down I have ever felt on a track. This year is going to hurt so much.

I still remember trying to break 30s for 200m at school, no idea what I'd run now, probably about 40!

Not so much about the running although it's a lovely day for it but there must be something fairly major happening in Dulwich Wood as there are police stationed outside every entrance I passed on my run today.

Every symptom of the flu has descended on me this week. All except the one which makes you lie in bed all day. Power through!
Off work today, docs tomorrow to see if rest of week is necessary. Supposed to be running 110mH on Saturday but we'll need to see how training goes(or if I'll be allowed to).

So Juandude, your track and field that you do, do you compete or are you just a keen participant in it for the buzz of it? I don't know much about that side of the sport

I started as a 9 year old bored of football at school, progressed to one of the best 800m runners in the country at 14, shattered pelvis at 15, Sprinter convert & top 10 in Scotland by 16. Tried every event possible(even Pole Vault)and can honestly say I am compete for the absolute adrenalin rush of moving at 20mph on foot and also I get a buzz from bettering myself.
28 now. Moved to competing for Southampton AC after 12 years with Edinburgh AC & 2 years of injury & doing nothing but gymwork. Sprints, Jumps & Hurdles now for me. Back to reality and back to my best hopefully by the end of this year.

Off to aquafit tonight, could be rather embarassing but Saturday's 5 miles nor walking around Bletchley park all day yesterday hasn't done anything to help my foot. Going to try aqua jogging too - that will also be embarrasing I fear
