Wow. I would have thought a modified rag top would have been a bit more risky... I guess hot hatches like yours are maybe more desireable. What insurance group is it? I do have 2 advanced driving certificates which I decalre - so I'm sure they help. 9 years no claims, and 9 years no points so I'm sure that helps too. Still surprised how much the 172 is though!

Cheap, fast, relatively common and I imagine they get nick/ crashed quite a bit.

Out of interest how much did you get quoted for the S3?

Funny that for a more expensive and powerful car!! Insurance is such a strange thing... Not consistent at all.
