It was probably the words 'nominet' and 'department of trade and industry' that persuaded them

Feek metaphorically pulls out the big guns. (See what I did there?)

This is what I wrote..
Quote:
Good afternoon.

I am the previous holder of the mb7uiv.co.uk domain name, the domain was registered to myself via a friend of a friend who I recently lost contact with so was unable to renew it after it very recently expired.
Today I went to re-register the domain to myself to find that your company have registered this domain.

I own and operate the MB7UIV Amateur Radio to Internet gateway, this was the first licenced gateway of it's kind in the UK and was licenced by the Radio Society of Great Britain on behalf of the Department of Trade and Industry.

There can be no other legitimate use for this domain name apart from the site supporting my gateway.

I am requesting that this domain name ownership be passed to myself as you have no grounds for ownership.

If this does not happen I will be filing a claim with Nominet UK under the 'Abusive Registration' policy, for the following reasons.

"An Abusive Registration is one which, by its use or by its very existence, has caused the complainant unfair detriment or has given the registrant an unfair advantage."

You have no use for the domain name, I previously owned it and your ownership has caused me unfair detriment.

Because mb7uiv is specifically linked to myself, I also believe that the following is effective.

"b) Has the domain name been registered with the primary purpose of stopping you from using it?"

Yes. There could be no other reason for yourselves to register the mb7uiv.co.uk domain.

I am happy to pay for the domain, but not more than the standard domain registration fee. If you attempt to extract more than that fee then you also breach the Abusive Registration terms thus:

"a) Has the Respondent offered to sell the domain name(s) for more than the Respondent paid for it? "

I look forward to hearing from you.

Lots of love.

Feek
Previous registrant of mb7uiv.co.uk

It's good to be polite. I nearly addressed it to the 'Darling fascist bully boy' but decided against it

Nicely done Feek, glad you got your domain back

It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
