For whatever it is worth I've got a few mates who worked/are still working on this game and it is supposed to be very good although the 'sandbox' part is meant to be more entertaining in some ways than the actual gameplay.
The full version ships with the Halo 3 demo, bit of a sneaky way to boost sales really.

It won't be the first time the sandbox side of the game is more enjoyable than the main missions. It's great fun in GTA and Saints Row to just drive around and interact with everyone.

Well just finished playing the hour demo (seems we have a timed demo but can play the whole game) I just spent most of my time running and jumping everywhere to get the agility orbs that was a lot of fun.
Does anyone remember that game on the cube that was manga style? The graphics to me seem almost drawn/cartoon like but still realistic at the same time. Give it a go you'll see what I mean. The main character has a blank outline, erm why??? The controls felt good, very similar to Saints Row and everywhere seems reachable, you just have to decide on the easiest way of getting there. I did do some killing which was rather good, the lock on feature was nice with the aiming though it seems you have to aim in the general direction of the enemy for the lock on to work. The progression system is well done and you can do what you like, my agility was maxed out by the end but I hadn't touched explosives or driving Oh the whole I'd say it certainly was enjoyable but not entirely sure if I'd spend my money on buying it. Maybe one for rental if I ever get this montly game rental system sorted.

I really enjoyed that demo. Its like a fresh take on the GTA style of things. I like that you can take quite a bit of punishment too, then just hide round the corner Halo style to get your health back. What really sold it was getting into the supercar at the start and hearing Hybrid playing. A game with Hybrid! Feb 23rd according to Amazon. Nice When you get the best car it has guns! That opens up so much carnage

I really quite enjoyed that! Played it for the full hour (taking me past my bedtime!), and had great fun just jumping around, throwing stuff around, and being a basic badass. It was fun when I built up my strength to 3 stars, was able to pick up police cars and throw them at the bad guys shooting at me. It saved the police having to go to them to arrest them
