Increasing memory speed and "Windows Experience Index"
I increased the volts and upped my memory speed from 800 to 880MHz but the Windows Experience Index in Vista hasn't increased when I rerun it - Should I have expected this to increase?

The memory score seems to be based on amount and amount alone, not timing/speed:

Seems odd then that people are saying they have a higher figure than I, but have less RAM.

The article isnt that old (December 2006), but does conflict with what people are posting on the web (example).
Cant claim to know much about it (I tend to ignore it if Aero runs), but I could email some people I know within MS if you like?

I'd like to know, it does seem that my memory is very slow compared to what a lot of people are getting.

Ooo, interesting.
It looks as though because I'm using 3Gb, I could have the third strip running in single channel mode, thus reducing my memory score. I'm going to rip it out and retest.

Didn't make any difference. I appear to be in dual channel mode anyway.
