Help Needed!
Hi guys,
In a fit of retardness I've managed to bodge up the 2 computers in my house (playing around with installing Vista...oops) so now neither of them will boot into Windows (tried safe mode, restore etc, no joy..). Ok I thought, no worries, I'll pull out my trusty XP cd and install that instead....starts installing...uh oh, 'cannot find file xxxx.inf' *&^% - CD doesn't work on either computer so it looks like it's knackered! So I now have 2 non-functioning computers and no CD burners to even try Linux or whatever to try and fix 'em up! Sooooo...is there per chance a kind kind soul out there who would do me a huuuuuge favour and burn a copy of some form of OS (XP ideally ) and pop the CD in the post for me? No huge rush but if it could arrive before the Easter holiday that'd be awesomely legendary! There's a pint or two in it for the person that can help! Rich

I'd do it tonight but my computers are all packed away with all the building work going on :/
I'm sure some other kind soul will dive in to the rescue

Hey Rich,
Can sort you a copy of XP no problems... Plus I have to head home via Liverpool Street Station anyway Let me know and I'll organise summat. Dym [edit] Just had a thought, have you changed any of the HDD set ups of the 2 PCs (swapped discs around, changed jumpers around, etc). When I was putting together an SFF a few weeks ago I kept getting a missing file error on a disc I knew worked and it was down to HDD jumper settings being wrong.. If not then I'll sort a copy of XP for you.. [/edit]

Hmm that's interesting, I know my mate installed the hard drive rather than me and might not have done that properly, will take a look this evening and then let you know, fingers crossed!

Can do a copy too if required.
I've even got a legit Not For Resale key for Vista ultimate with it's DVD if you want that too

Update - have managed to coax one machine into booting up Vista so I'm going to grab a CD burning program and try and burn a copy of XP from home! Will let you know how I get on and whether a CD is still required!
