Meh! You pair are a bad influence. I've been out all afternoon and evening levelling out the North face of the Eiger that passes for a back garden, painting the fencing, digging out huge sheets of polythene, while burning off all the old pallets, etc that I found under the wilderness.

And toasting crumpets on the fire

Patio Update...Finally finished the first stage of digging!!

You can see were the steps are going to go. They do look like they are going to be pretty wide, but that is also for the width of two border walls.

I've bolster marked the wall and removed turf where a second set of steps will be put in. I'm hoping the bottom 2 course of bricks can stay there as footing for the first step.

The uber hole thats now complete (I pray its deep enough for a layer of hardcore then sand or cement). I still need to dig border trenches deeper to make the foundations for the retaining walls (at the moment, the thought of this makes me want to cry )

The excavated earth and rubble (some of it anyways!)

Clare's Basil.. hmmmm

Aww look at the little dude with the wheelbarrow, that is cute!
The at is whole lot of hole digging and filling and moving around of dirt, it'll be so worth it when you can have a crowd round for the "opening of the patio BBQ"!

For the past coupla days Pheebs has been blitzing the front
room.
Here what it looked like shortly after we moved in - you cant see it, but the wallpaper says "gay" - literally.

The pictures and stuff have remained there ever since, even if we have changed the furniture around a bit.

Pheebs Doing some painting having stripped the GAYness away.

And now heres the "finished" room.
We have no unloaded DVDs and books into the racks, and my drinks cabinet has been restocked.

We still need to sort out where to hang pictures and other trinkets, but the room itself is now done!

What we are thinking of doing (as the fireplace got a little damaged whilst sitting in the hallway) is making an oak frame for the marble backboard from architrave (probably bull nosed), then having a nice chunky oak shelf. Alternatively, I try and fill the damage to the fireplace, and we paint it a light color.. However, we both now feel that the fireplace is too obtrusive.
