This is me answering the things I said in the first post that I thought were going to be cleared up...
Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read! Aunt Petunia will be important. Maybe not important, but we learn an awful lot about her, like her begging to be allowed to go to Hogworts. Luna will be much more involved. Absolutely Dumbledore is dead, he's not coming back but she has mentioned recently that 'Dumbledore' is causing her problems. This could be either the portrait version or possibly Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus' brother. Aberforth is very important, and Albus is as well. Dudley is just what he seems. Yes, but his character has changed a lot - BigD What happened during the missing 24 hours between James and Lily being killed and Harry being dropped at the Dursleys? No explanation Who was at Godricks Hollow the night Voldemort killed James and Lily? No explanation Harry's eyes, and the "you have your mother's eyes" comments. Very useful in book 6 with Slughorn and the true memory and almost as relevant in DH with the whole Snape thing. It's being widely reported that two characters will die. This is incorrect. JKR actually said that she's written in an extra two deaths - I'm pretty sure that there will be more than just two important character deaths. Oh yeah! Peter Pettigrew owes Harry a debt for saving his life, will it be repayed? Yup Snape - Good or Evil? Good, but just because he was shown to be good, doesn't mean he wasn't a bad man!! I predict that all three of the trio (Harry, Ron and Hermione) will survive. I was right End Spoiler Alert!

I just can't get into it But that is because I have absolutely no recollection of the Half Blood Prince....I don't even remember Dumbledore going. I've abandoned it until I've gone over the last one again.

Tried to read the first... Got so bored and gave up.
Went to see the film, fell asleep. Have listened to the first 5 audiobooks - was pretty much forced to sadly. Not wasting any more time on them. Best bit about them is Stephen Fry doing a 13yr old girls voice. Makes me laugh.

Well I'm very much happy with the last book/ending. It's so intricately woven I'm surprised Rowling isn't autistic somehow!

Just read it today and while it was pretty good I can't say that I enjoyed it as much as the previous books though maybe that's something to with being very tired and depressed at the moment. Will read it again on the flight to America in a few weeks and will hopefully enjoy it more.
Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read! Maybe I'm a cold hearted barsteward but the only death that bothered me what Hedwigs though I'm sure that my Gran would be proud that I value a bird life above that of humans or maybe it's that I've always found the ancillary characters very one dimensional so didn't really care about them. End Spoiler Alert! |
