Default Windows update keeps corrupting my kernel!!! (vista)

Right, i've just had two instances of my machine reboot after an update to tell me that the kernel is corrupt. So on both instances had to put the vista disk in and do a repair!

anyone heard of this happening/know how to fix it?

Are you sure your HD/RAM isn't corrupt?

If it's blue screening, upload any dump files in Windows\Minidump and I'll take a look. 'The kernel is corrupt' or whatever is a pretty useless message if that's what it's giving you. f it truly was corrupt it wouldn't be able to boot and give you that message

Note the part near the bottom about SATA hardware.

Ah well, disable that one for now then. Sounds like MS haven't quite fixed all the hardware issues with it yet.
