If i was a postman, I'm pretty sure getting rid of all the crap in my bag would make it easier to carry? And if he's trying to save time by not knocking, he'd still have to write the card wouldn't he? Why doesn't he just ring the doorbell and start writing the card? What a dork.

Was that ****tylink by chance?

I once had a driver but the message on at 17.05 even though the office is open until 17.30. They're also supposed to record the colour of the door to prove they've been there.
So I rang the Doris at the depot.
'What colours the door then?'
'White'
'Bollocks. It's a big glass thing. If it's not here by 9.05 tomorrow I'll inform the sender to start legal proceedings.'

And it was.

Slightly off topic....

Bought my Step Mum a cooker from Arrgooose and she had to stay in all day as they wouldn't specify a time. She sits in and then nothing happens. I ring and get told that "the delivery man tried to deliver it but no-one was in".

When the second delivery was arranged, it was actually "the delivery man couldn't be arsed as the road looked a little bit tight and so lied through his backside".

Needless to say, we complained and my SM got some nice extra vouchers to buy something nice for herself

When I lived with the olds, it happened sometimes. Now I live in a flat it happens all the ruddy time. I'm making a list of local depot numbers as and when I find them out so I can ring them up and give them a piece of my mind! Usually ends up with a knock a couple of minutes later

Got it in one. Thankfully they delivered it today before 12.. if it had got to 2 and no package I'd have been on the phone giving them an angry word or two. I'm still going to send them a message so that they're aware they have a driver doing it in case they have internal procedures.

I had a postman put a card through without knocking a couple of days before Christmas. I was in the lounge reading a book and heard the letterbox go.

I opened the front door just as he was getting in his van and shouted "OOOOOOOOOOOOI", but he just drove off.

Git!

At least your postmen don't try to come in!! I was trying to fall asleep and heard the postman knock on the door. Not even 5 seconds later I hear the door handle shake and the door trying to open (I only use the deadbolt, not the handle lock)!!!

I got down there and opened the door just as he got back to his car. Told him it's not such a good idea in these neck of the woods to try just walking into someone's house uninvited. He said he knocked. I asked if he heard anyone tell him to come in. Nope. Then that's a good way to get shot now, isn't it?

I think he got the hint. All packages have been just left on the porch ever since......
