This may be a stupid question, but surely glasses last for your whole life? Is it just the daily knocks?

That's one thing that makes me not overly keen on my contacts, it makes things ever so slightly fuzzy so edges just aren't as defined as they should be. It's the best they can offer for me though thanks to my astigmatism. It's fine for nights out but it's what would put me off always using them so I get out of the habit then.

Have you tried toric lenses, Jen? I tried them for a bit but didn't find them comfortable but they made a huge difference over standard lenses.

Your prescription changes throughout your life but is normally pretty stable during your 20s-40s. I'm +3.50 in both eyes with an astigmatism. First long sighted person here |

I use Toric lenses and can see fine with them, no blurring at all (until my eyes get tired and/or dry out).

Hmm I dunno, got em tested the other day now have to wear glasses in the evening (when eyes are tired) or if I'm using the puter all day I should wear them. I only need them to see anything over about 2-3meters tho...

I was recently tested again and am now -2.5 and -2.75. I can cope without my lenses for some things but deffo couldn't drive without them.

-3.25 in the right, and -1.75 in the left. Not too bad.

For those of you reporting that contacts make your eyes dry or tired, I can highly recommend "Blink", great for re-moisturising eyes and helping feel fresh again
