What time is it in Alexandria?
The question posed in this afternoon's text message (technically yesterday afternoon) was "I got off the rig 2 hours ago and I just got to the hotel. The car will pick me up in 7 hours to take me to the airport. What time do you think it is in Alexandria?".
I'm sorely disappointed in you guys. Everyone bar one (well done Zirax, who was close enough) got it hopelessly wrong. The answer was simple. When the big Jock has been on a dry rig for 4 weeks and has just entered an establishment which houses two bars, the time, regardless of what the clock says, is BEER O'CLOCK. Tut tut Special mention to Pheebs who asked "Whose [sic] Alexandria? Shes got to be a big bird 2 have her own time zone x" I won't mention any names (Paul Hudson) but one person thought I'd sent him the text by mistake I'm now in Cairo airport waiting patiently for my flight, merrily pished with a can of Heineken in front of me (any port in a storm). See y'all tomorrow

I'd (probably) have spotted that one, knowing where you are, and realising that you didn't need to send a text to ask local time, but I didn't get any text to reply to.
My reply is now never to be revealed (unless you have subscriptions turned on). |

It was funny because we were talking about Egypt in here for most of the day yesterday as one of our guys is in the process of booking a holiday there!

Whilst replying to your text message, I was blindly sliding along in our muddy, rainy garden, seeing whether Trio needed a wee wee.
I ended up stepping in doggy doo doo because of you Luckily though, I had been lazy and slipped on Pickys shoes to go outside Teeheehee! |
