it's the way it is I'm afraid mate. People stand in doorways, they get in the way when you can save them from being killed but you both end up dying instead.

Well after some weekend killin' I passed rank 20 and have the M4 which is an awesome rifle. I don't tend to bother with the ACOG scopes as they take too long to aim with and the RDS does an excellent job.
I've also found a new appreciation of backlot and crossfire. They were both levels that used to frustrate me something chronic as I'd always end up killing very little but dying frequently though I think my tactical play has improve with my noobish status. One thing that did frustrate me over the weekend was choosing the sniper but then being only left with a pistol so I became a gun klepto collecting everyone else's guns - man I can't wait for Overkill to come back. Looking forward to Thrusday night as we'll have Davey back and a full team which means we'll own everyone

If I want to go as a proper sniper I always take a pistol with me so I can have iron lungs, UAV jammer and 2 claymores with me. It's now becoming my preferred class on a lot of maps as I find more and more spots to snipe people from. Crossfire is definitely one of my favourites for sniping as there are 3 really good spots to hide where you can use claymores to defend yourself

It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. |

I haven't really tried sniping much, have to give it a go sometime. Need to learn the best spots when I do so.
Thursday night should be great fun

Are the 3 spots in cross fire;
2 - opposite ends of the map 1 - near your spawn point at the north end of the map? I'm using a sniper class alot more myself and really enjoying it I'd just like a weapon if i get surprised though that is probably down to me not having claymores. Found some good sniping spots in Bloc and strike I've found 2 awesome places which I'll show you on Thursday if you like.

Yup those are the 3 points in crossfire. However I like to stand way back and behind an object and just lean past it quickly to take a peak, then hold my breath and go straight to the target so he can't get a shot off. I'm trying to complete the killer challenges so have to be in prone to kill people when sniping. I like ambush, that has a lot of nooks and cranies to hide in to snipe. Overgrown and pipeline are great sniper levels too as you can really "disappear". I tend not to use UAV jammer and use deep impact instead, but I might have to start using that - though if there's a kill cam they'll be able to see where you are from that even with UAV jammer?
I'm using the r700 (best distance accuracy:power ratio) until I can unlock the 50cal - though the M21 is quite good as it's semi auto, though the ACOG sight is quite tricky but quicker once you get the hang of it. Iron longs plus holding breath works best for long distance shots. Dammit I want to play more! Only managed to clock up 32hrs of play time, though I've done pretty well so far! There are some very vyer good people out there though!

If I can't immediately see the person who shot me I always use the kill-cam to see where the shot came from. If you're sniping properly you'll do 2 kills and move to your next location. Have you thought about the perk combination Claymores, Stopping Power and Extreme Conditioning?

I use iron lungs, deep impact and claymores. Oh yeah I move around, especially on hardcore maps, in prone and I seldom get caught - I run out of bullets though
I need to get better with the G3 and at close combat as well as being quicker off the mark at stabbing people.

I find stabbing to be hit and miss if you come face to face with someone. If you come from behind (fnar) then it's much easier. The G3 is one of my favourite long range rifles as it forces me to be super accurate.
I always run out of bullets too
