Default Wicked

Last night I went along with Kari to go see the musical Wicked. Its been one I've been meaning to see for a while as the premise behind it seemed interesting. "How the Wicked Witch of the West got her name".

Wow.
Wow.
Wow.

It was absolutely amazing. DEFINATELY worth the watch if you can possibly get the chance. The land of Oz will never, ever be the same again, and it adds a lot to the characters you've seen in the films like the Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow.
The two lead vocalists are just superb, but the wicked witch, Elphaba (Kerry Ellis) outshone the lot. Her voice is just amazing, in range, expression and control.

Saw it mid last month with the other half - was her christymas present.

Wasn't expecting much, but it was fantastic. That bloody great dragons body above the stage is really cool, as is the wizards head.

Totally agree about Kerry Ellis - amazing performace. The voice of the other one just annoyed me, but I knew it was meant to be deliberatly like that.

Well worth the *gulp* £60 a ticket....

Managed to get a pair of stalls tickets at £50 each. Slightly *gulp* but still, we were exceptionally lucky. We were on the front row of a block, only 20 odd rows back from the stage, but right with a aisle direct in front of us; so we had entirely unimpeeded view of the stage AND ample leg space

Holy Thread resurrection batman.

Just finished reading the book "Wicked".
Wow, that's a fair bit different from the musical. However that doesn't detract from either work. Both are superb, and I can fully understand and love what they've done with the Musical. Well worth a read.

*toss toss*

I loved it too! Was awesome... though I still wasn't sure of the lead actress we saw. She seemed quite wooden, despite having the voice of an angel... but at the same time I couldn't figure if she was acting wooden on purpose.

Fanbloomingtastic though
