Quite true. In fact Union can be far more stop start especially if the weather is bad and both teams play a kicking game. The forwards trudge from one lineout to the next, one scrum to the next, and the backs hardly get motoring. There are more set pieces and up the jumper style rugby than you'd ever see in a League match.
