Many's the time I've got up on Sunday morning, gone to the cinema, and had popcorn for breakfast. The roads are empty, the cinema's empty... OK so it costs the best part of a tenner but I get home in time for lunch and feel like I've done something other than gestate in bed all morning. I'm not sure I could just go to the pub and have a drink on my own, but with a meal and a newspaper, why not?

I managed to redress that balance by going to see some friends, Jonny, and Pigmo relatively recently so I don't feel so bad now. But yeah doing stuff by yourself is actually quite relaxing and good for you IMO. I used to do too much of it when going away for work - that actually felt depressing as it was forced upon me. Doing it out of your own choice is good - it's your mind's way of saying "give me some time to think". Enjoy.

Yep definitely, if I ever have an hour or two to kill it's great spending it than popping into a pub and reading the newspaper or a book, or sit up at the bar and chat to the barstaff (if hot..lol), a good pastime for sure

I've routinely gone off and seen films, or gone to theatre on my own and such. It's more rare for me to go the pub solo without there being some specific reason to be there (e.g. open mic night and I'm going along guitar in hand)
