He will be home soon Aitch and the doctors there that deal with this kind of things are very good from my own experience with the same thing a few years back. I went through the same as MB is right now and took me 5 or so days to get through it and be allowed home.

Eep! Didn't realise this had got so bad so quickly!

Sounds like you are in a similar amount of pain to when my leg was bad. The pain was just unreal and I too had intravenous antibiotics and lines drawn on me.

Thankfully, the antibiotics really do work fast and you will be right in no time!

Sh!t dude, I checked out of this one thinking meh he's got a boil on his elbow. Hope it doesn't get any worse

H can you get them to check his blood sugar. If his temperature is up it might be because of that as well and it'll just feed the infection. Since he's been in for diabetes tests.

Thank you for everyone's thoughts and concerns and especially to SCM for the reassurances based on his own experience. The redness and swelling was finally starting to recede this morning. Only communicated by text so far today so I'll update more later after my visit the hospital on my way home.
