Default Invisible app problem

For some completely random reason both Firefox and Safari have turned invisible. I've rebooted and theres no change.

You can see there that its invisible. Theres a tooltip which is from a webpage being displayed. When I move over some areas the caret appears for the address bar too. Theres just no reason for this to happen that I can think of. I haven't installed anything new. AFAIK Firefox doesn't use anything that Safari does. Opera is so far unaffected but I need FF really.

Are you running the latest verison of firefox?

There is a a fella from the Netherlands on a mac forum I use who is having the same problem but no one has provided a solution yet.

EDIT: just thought are you using spaces? Actually scrub that I'm being daft.

I am. Updated last night but suddenly it just went invisible. I couldn't click on what I thought were links from tooltips as it would revert to Finder. I've updated to OSX 10.5.3 and its visible again.

Bit of HD activity and nothing. Its listed under the windows list though so it *is* there.

What about if you press F3 then? That should fit all the windows into the screen?

Have you been using any external monitors or anything?

Its ok now but even using Expose didn't show the window. I do use an external monitor but I have been for months.
