Default GTA Paris 1978

I learned of this today and found it incredible!
Some guy, supposedly a movie maker, strapped a camera to the hood of a ferrari and got someone to drive through Paris at nearing 140 mph, driving through red lights and narrow cobbled streets. Outstanding video, though I believe someone went to jail for it.

Great sound to it too!

Ummmm... Nice story but entirely fake.

Try a max of 80mph (average of under 50) and the front of a Mercedes 450 SEL. The sound of the 275GTB was dubbed in afterwards. The Merc is still a damn nice car.

Although - at the time it was rumoured to be a Formula One driver with an intimate knowledge of Paris doing the driving. Was in fact the director, Claude Lelouch - and he was arrested when the film was shown, but as no-one knew who the driver was he was released.

The noise of that Ferrari engine coming out of the tunnel did very strange things to me when I was younger. Still does actually.

Didn't Top Gear or 5th gear or someone try to replicate this? They started at sunrise and it took about 4 hours!
