Default Another scratch in the motor

Just pulled into Leeds and seen that at the services some nobber has put another scratch in the car. Luckily its on the bumper meaning it can just be changed. Really pisses me off as the car was absolutely spotless when I got it, now its covered in door scratches, two dented wheel arches and scratched bumpers. None of the damage on the car has been done by myself, otherwise I would just accept it. I probably make it sound worse than it is, its by no means about to fall apart.

Really makes me think twice about upgrading my motor as the Focus is worth 1500 ish I'm not that worried. However with a much newer car I would be pissed with scrotes denting it.

Semi rant ish I guess, but in general it just makes me sad that it keeps happening.

I was ranting about this the other day! It really gets on my wick that I have a cracked rear light, dent in my door and long scratches down both sides of my car when it had nothing to do with me! All done when parked up! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

It annoys me no end when my car gets damaged. That's why I always either park well away from everyone or if that isn't an option park next the most expensive car I can find as I hope that the owner of that car won't belt the side of my car with their door.

Do that all the time Paul, still doesn't stop them. Thats how this scratch came about and I got a dent in a wheel arch through doing the same thing in the past. How the heck they managed it when i'm deliberately away from the main area I don't know.

My car is covered in little dings, dents, scratches and scrapes. Only one has been caused by me. The BM is the same with some nice big dents in the rear passenger door, not done by us. I really wonder if it's ever worth having a decent car in the future.

You just can't have anything nice in this world

Rob got his exhaust nicked the other weekend, and has just taken it in because a light was smashed aswell

Not fair! Sorry to hear about your car Z

Thats why I would be reluctant to buy a new car now, (I know I live in London, but in comparison to other areas - those who have been to mine will know - its not a bad area, but yes it is London.

Rob's selling the Fiat Coupe but looking for new cars... I dunno why, I would get something a bit older at least.

Thanks all I've had a look over lunch and I think I'll be able to polish the worst of it out.

Does make me consider what i'll get next though. I was considering getting a big engined barge, converting to gas and then running that around. Reason being is that i'll be doing a lot of driving in the next couple of years and with LPG prices its worth it (even factoring in conversion costs). If I got a lot nicer car though I would cry if it got trashed (ie BMW, Merc, Lexus).

Never heard of an exhaust being nicked though! I did used to have my Polo being broken into all the time in Leicester. In the end I left the doors unlocked as it saved paying for a new window each time. After they had a nose around they always left the car as it wasn't worth nicking

I've not heard of having an exhaust stolen but catalytic converters are very hot property around Milton Keynes. I know 2 people who have had theirs cut out in the last month.

TVP have put a warning out for catalytic converters being nicked. It's crime of the week (along with theft of lead).
