ubuntu + acer laptop = win
Was getting bored with using Windows all day everyday so have now installed ubuntu on my laptop. Pretty much the easiest thing I've done pc wise. Everything worked straight away and I'm now getting used to using the terminal to do stuff like installing and running programs
Had to increase the text size in Firefox though as the standard size was tiny so everything is slightly fuzzy |

I did the same recently with my lightweight laptop. The only thing I had a fight with was wireless. One of two things happened - either the card didn't support WPA or the card wouldn't connect via WPA. In the end I bought an Edimax card that 'just worked'.

I had the same thing with Firefox Wossi, but it wasn't the font size - in about:config, I had to change layout.css.dpi from -1 to 96 (my screen's running dpi), after that it was perfect.

I asked on the ubuntu forums and they suggested I install the msttcorefonts which has sorted it out. Just having a good play now.
