Is your POP server running TLS on the inside? Just trying the loose ends, cant see much wrong with your setup :S

Not as far as I know, I've tried it with the "Enable SSL, STARTTLS, STLS support for SMTP, IMAP, POP servers" both ticked and unticked.

Might seem obvious but how are you trying to connect to the server? If it's from inside your network you may have trouble using the external IP.

Not internally Mark, I'm telling my mobileme account to collect mail from my domain here. Or at least, I'm trying to, that's what's failing.

For the time being, I've set my system to forward mail onwards and that's working.
