Amazing ballet
Ok I know this is not to everyone's taste, but having been to see the original a few times, coming across this was spectacular. This is Swan Lake as you have never seen it before. The frogs are good but the swan is simply amazing, stick with it.

en pointe on his shoulders! And his head! Oooof!
I'm not sure how comfortably out and out gymnastics within ballet sit with me but there's no denying that is amazing.

I echo your wow!
I was irritated by the crowd clapping loudly at the more challenging balancing though, it spoiled the atmosphere and made it feel a bit stunty. I am going to see Swan Lake for the first time later on in the year. It will be a small production locally by a touring ballet company from Vienna - I think it might be a bit more traditional!

Yes the "circus clapping" was frustrating and it does ruin the atmosphere. I agree that ballet and gymnastics maybe don't sit THAT well together, but it's original!
Aitch, you'll love it - I'm not a HUGE ballet fan or aficionado however I do enjoy a few of the popular ballets from time to time

You'll be surprised at how noisy it all is, wooden toed ballet shoes make a right racket considering they seem to be floating on air!
I love ballet

Always wanted to go desperately.
I remember when I did ballet and dance when I was younger I used to love LOVE LOooooOOove sitting at the side of the stage and watching the older dancers perform. Used to be captivating! Truly stupendous stuff... that ladies knees bend backwards! Erk! And yeh... the clapping... made it sound like a circus act. Nice find willhelm! |

Phenomenal!
I always want to cry when I hear the music. The end of Billy Elliott has me in tears every single time. So moving. I think gymnastics and ballet work perfectly together, as does gymnastics and other forms of dance. Always inspires me to push myself harder when I'm doing my workouts!

Please do! I can't view this at work, but I shall look later.
I always enjoy the Nutcracker that and swan lake are the only 2 I really know well... I just find it so moving like you say Dawn. I find opera wrenches my insides more though...
