Buffer size I expect... edit - or that ^^

As for changing the industry, with the respect to the video I could maybe see, but really, what does it have that is so mind blowing that it stands to revolutionise the entire photographic world? Lots of pixels and decent high ISO sensitivity?

I think its the video side of things. The guy picked up a 5dm2 with no manual and was able to produce a professional movie in 3 days.

I see. Well, he said he owned a 5D from my quick skim read, so I would fully expect him to know most of the camera inside out already and from what i've picked up here and there, the movie mode isn't the most complex thing to use, it's very much just operating the camera 'as normal' but for a long time, if you see what I mean. Obviously videography techniques are going to be different to photography ones, but that's an aside that would affect any transition.

Yer I'd expect to be able to pickup a 5dm2 and use it too but the point was that he was able to just pick it up and produce something pretty good. Of course he's cheating since he threw $5,000 at the project and has some of the best lenses around.

I'll be honest and say that I would expect a Pullitzer prize winning photographer to be able to make a decent video with a camera largely the same as one he's been using for the last 3 years.

I suspect the most major hurdles to overcome when transferring would be the techniques rather than equipment, I suspect if you gave a totally neutral person a 5DII and an HD video cam, they'd end up producing something largely similar.

most of the shots I've seen so far have been very clean upto iso 1600, above that the noise has gradually crept in and detail ever so slightly diminished . and like you say 12800 ok for b&w ,25600 being emergency only
I haven't seen any shots that make it stand out yet and make me go "woooooo nice" heheh , I want to see some nice shots with a wide tonal range,etc

I read vincentslaforet's blog yesterday, can't wait to see his footage and show what the 5dII can do

You can pick up 1080p camcorders now for sub-£200, but though the IQ is certainly usable on those I'll wager the 5D does a substantially better job - or at least it bloody well ought to.

I imagine it will. You only have to look at any of the best photos in the world to know how good the 5dm2's video will be.
