I've pre-ordered the limited edition on Zavvi for £39 which is the cheapest now that Amazon jacked up their prices. I've not used them before though, so fingers crossed it arrives when it should.

I've only heard good things about zavvi, you should be safe. Wonder if there's any truth to the 'this won't be released on the PC, but this time we mean it!' cliffyB comment? Will be interesting to see how that pans out as they said the same thing about gears 1, if it doesn't get released i'll end up purchasing a 360 for this and NG2.

I very nearly pre-ordered with Zavvi but I didn't want to risk it just in case they took a few days.
So instead, I'll watch how it goes for you You can be the guinea pig

You know, I was thinking of pre-ordering something else before Gears to test the waters, but I don't have the time at the moment to buy anything else! In fact I'm studying for a certification and my target is to not buy any games and pass by the 7th of November so I can play Gears. Except I'm on here and not studying!

I've done the same. Also getting Banjo from them for £35 and now with the free arcade title

The game has been leaked and some people are playing it at this LAN. Not had a go yet, but have been watching it and I must say it's absolutely jawdroppingly fantasticly amazingly beautiful. Looking at it it's hard to believe they have improved it so much, sharper, more on screen, it's incredible.

No one will be disappointed with the visuals of it which blows Gears of War (1) out of the water.

That's impressive, considering Gears 1 is still one of the best looking games of all time. New leader of the pack, graphically do you think?
