Default MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I just added a couple bits and bobs to the stereo in my Jeep.

2 X 10" Clarion subwoofers, each in a sealed enclosure.
1 X 1500W Clarion 2 channel amp.
1 X VR3 5 way (AM/FM/CDMP3/SDCard/Aux) head unit.
1 X Infinity 45W X 6 ch amp with full crossovers.
2 X Infinity 1" silk dome tweeters.
2 X Infinity 4" door speakers.
2 X Infinity 6" door speakers.

Now granted, the Jeep came with the last 4 list items.

I spent most of last night setting the Clarion amp up properly (blew up two of my multi-meters doing it LOL), but I think I've got it as close as can be to ultimate output. I just went to Burger King to get us breakfast and decided to let fly with a little Linkin Park to see what it would all do.

HOLY ****!!! You know you've got some SERIOUS bass going when your FEET get a massage in a 4,800 lb "luxury" SUV!! I mean, my eyes were going unfocused.

That poor kid in his little riced up Civic that thought he was disturbing the peace with his stereo!! I pulled up beside him at a light and the look in his eyes when I completely drowned him out was just amazing!!

Lol. Sorry.

I just cant but think that if someone started a thread entitled 'Dont you just hate those yappy ***** who think that playing music at ear-damaging volumes is cool' then you'd get a series of people saying 'o, yah, totally - they're such twats'....and yet such sentiments will be strangely absent in this thread.....

Sorry to disrupt the vibe people. I loves ya really. mwah.

Visage, I know there's no way you could have known the details, but this wasn't a case of me sitting in a parking lot somewhere blasting some rap crap for hours on end. I'm 40 years of age for goodness sakes. I didn't even turn my amp on in our apartment complex until I got out on the road. And the road I was traveling was all businesses on a Saturday morning.

Trust me, I don't like my music at ear-damaging volumes all the time. But for a couple minutes to see what a new system will do is kinda fun once in a while, don't you agree?

It's like having a Lotus 7 but driving it responsibly. It's the knowing you can that keeps from actually doing it.

And, like a Lotus 7 coming up beside a chav in a Cav, every once in a while you've just GOT to show them they ain't all that...

Oh, and to top it all off, anyone care to take a guess how much all this cost?

Well, the two cheapy multimeters I cooked were $10 each. The amp and speakers I got in exchange for an oil change and a brake job on a coworkers car. The head unit I got back in Minnesota. It came with my Blazer.

So let's see. $20 in meters, $20 in oil and filters and the brake pads I got at jobber + 5% for a princely sum of $7 and change. So for the complete and utter extravagance of less than $50 I can almost push a window out of my Jeep.
