Joomla help..
I'm trying to install a third party template into Joomla but don't seem to be having much luck.
Firstly, when I tried importing using the browse and install function, I get the following error: Quote:
I've also downloaded the required template into the template directory, which was uploaded with the product as part of the installation. The template appears in the template list but shows as incompatible with current version. Again the legacy plugin is enabled. I'm using Joomla version 1.5 this is the template I'm trying to install. http://www.themesbase.com/?view=4132 Lastly , I changed the template details xml file Quote:

I've tried numerous templates and none seem to work.. Any ideas?

Is this definately a Joomla 1.5 template ?? Even with legacy mode turned on, some older templates don't always work. Also for the purpose of installing it maybe worthwhile checking your permissions and change
Administrator Modules Components Plugins Images Templates to 777 for the purpose of installing the template then change back to a more secure permission. I have found as well with older templates is that when they download the come as a .zip instead of a .rar or vice versa try uncompress and change either zip it or rar it to the other extension type and try again. Another problem is that sometimes the older templates come in a .zip or .rar and they have all the components and modules in the file. So again uncompress and make sure it's only the root template being uploaded. What version of MySql are you running server side ? |

MySql 5.0.51a-community-log
I've checked the priv and they are fine. No this isn't a 1.5 template, but with the legacy plugin enabled, this shouldn't be a problem right? I'm having problems finding a 1.5 template, let alone one I want. Most of the sites I've found don't actually say

http://www.siteground.com/joomla-hos...-templates.htm is the site I used for templates.
Not sure if that offers good templates for you but worth a go

I think I'm sorted.. Managed to get a template in that I'm happy with although I've lost the bloody search bar now haha.
Anyway, I'll be working on the basic structure over the next week, gradually adding my articles back in over time.
