Default Bizzare cinema experiences

Me and the SO decided to go out to the cinema on Wednesday to see Saw 5, I tried to get an orange code, but it didn't appear for 4 hours, luckily she has an orange phone too, and got the code straight away.

Then we get into the screen and there was nobody there. I mean nobody. You'd think a film like Saw would be really popular wouldn't you?

Although the seats were comfy enough, the legroom was ridiculous, there was nowhere better to sit, but I ended up draping my legs over the top of the chair in front because there was no way they were going to fit in the space provided.

Amyway, it was sureal. Just me and her holding hands etc and not feeling at all scared, I almost felt disappointed in the film

Anyway, bizzare semi rant over. Anyone else feel disappointed with Saw 5 or am I now so numb to the shock value it isn't shocking any more?

I remember watching Wolf all by myself in screen 4 of the local Odeon.

I watched Saw IV last night and just got confused. It's all getting far too elaborate for its own good, and seems to expect you to remember all the bit-part characters from every film. Then they throw in side-swipes with the chronology, which worked well in... was it II? Can't remember... but now is just getting crazy. I tolerated, and even enjoyed part III but now I don't have much hope for V.

Slightly bizarre is the policy on removing digital cameras at the local Cineworld - you only get stopped if you either have a camera in your hand or have a bag that they will request to check. Fair enough I can sort of understand the reason but most digital cameras will not be worthwhile for cine-rips and considering we all had mobile phones with digital cameras (this was pointed out to the chap) it seems an odd policy - we also wandered in with toy guns as well but strangely no questions were asked about them.

Used to be the only one in the cinema a lot yeeears ago.

A friend of mine worked for one and did some review writing for them and would always get me free entry to shows on Sunday morning at 10am or before (they'd run checks and things or something daft).

So yeh... would just wonder up, say hi to people setting up and then plonk in the cinema by myself. Sometimes the odd member of staff would be in or there'd be a person there reviewing it but that was it.

At first bizarre... thereafter a very cool way to start my Sunday morning

I liked the first Saw film. Original concept and quite atmospheric. Watched II and thought "meh"; watched III and thought "oh dear they should have stopped after the first one". Didn't bother with IV and won't bother with V. I hate it when rubbish sequels besmirch a good original.

Is that the first use of besmirch on here?

Edit: yes I think it is.

The last time I was in a cinema with just me and the gf we decided to sit in *the* seats (you know the ones; just up from the walkway, right in the middle ). A few minutes later a small group come in, look around and decide to come down the same row that we were in. No probs thinks I... they then proceed to ask us to move up one seat... one... seat... The cinema was completely empty with the exception of me and mine and they wanted us to move up one seat! I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry
