Default How good are iPod headphones these days?

I'm planning on buying some headphones for my sister as she is getting a Touch and thought some Sennheiser CX400s would be pretty decent, I've always heard good things about the CX300s and I loved my PX100s. But I'm wondering how good the headphones that come with new iPods are as they look nicer than the toss mine came with. Anyone got a touch or other new iPod? Would the CX400s be a decent enough improvement? Thanks.

Got a new iPhone a few weeks ago, took one look at the earphones it came with and put them to one side, unopened, in favour of my Sony MDR EX71s...

No idea what the sound is like on the earphones the iPhone came with but they're not buds (which I prefer) and are white (which doesn't really go with a black iPhone ) so they get a 'lose' status from me

I find they're the only ones that consistently stay in my ears, especially when out running and stuff. I'm sure there's better quality sounding ones available but I like the style of them as well, so I find they work for me.

They are still rubbish.

Sony EX85s are good and can be had very cheap now. Cheaper than I bought my EX71s for anyway and much much better sounding.

Crap, complete and utter.

I used the ones the came with my iPod classic while my custom sleeves were off being fixed and was unimpressed to say the least.

Fairly conclusive there then! Wasn't looking for reviews on the Sennheisers but if any one has used them I'd welcome the input. Fanks.

I'm a fan of Shure headphones so can't help out with Sennheiser comments.

If they're anything like CX300s they'll be very very bass heavy.

Well, the ones I got today with my touch compared to the ones I got 3 years ago with my nano are quite odd. They don't fit properly, they just kinda rest in your ear and fall out if you move.

The older ones are ace, still working (despite the glue starting to wear off around the cover) and not bad sound quality either.

You're on Boat Drinks, reading the signature your signature could be like.
I'm on a computer.

You really need to try some proper earphones.

Even the newest supplied iPod ones are godawful.
