A few chums who have this game seem to really LOVE it but I really don't see the appeal. Even with the earlier versions the game seems to be rather... well... mundane.

Are you playing it at all Windle ? I'm not being a troll (honest), I just don't see the appeal but would appreciate seeing a players point of view on this gaming phenomonon!

I got the first Gamecube one. It was good for a while but there isn't really anything to do once your shop is as big as it gets etc. bar waiting for all the annual events. Which you invariably miss, then you're stuffed.

Yeah am playing it. It's sucked me back in. As you say there's no point to it, yet everyday I want to find those fossils. Buy some furniture and plant some fruit trees, maybe do some fishing. I can't explain it

Sounds like The Sims Every few months I'd have an obsession over The Sims, then I'd stop and think 'wtf am I doing' and not touch it for months on end again.

Animal Crossing never really appealed to me despite having it for the Gamecube years ago.

I guess I understand the 'nothing' appeal, sometimes I flick the zelda disc into my gamecube just to explore hyrule field some more and enjoy a spot of fishing
