That's brilliant news Jen I like it when people re-home animals too. Gives them a new chance at life with a happy family It really does make you wonder how people can let them go in the first place though. Flo is brilliant and I will never understand why someone would have wanted to give her up. Oh well, their loss is our gain and all that

Yeah I know that feeling.
Harry our cat was a rescue cat. He was abandoned at the age of 6 months and was found wandering by an RSPCA inspector. He's got so many weird fears and is particularly wary of men, especially workmen. We've had him 8 years now and he's much better than he used to be but sometimes he'll still suddenly act like he's worried he's going to be hit when we've never ever been aggressive towards him, poor thing

With Charlie, he was born in the RSPCA so doesn't know any different. Can't remember if I posted it before, but his Mum's there too. In her case, the owner couldn't handle looking after her and the future puppies (why the owner didn't have his Mum neutered in the first place if she couldn't cope with it, who knows ) so handed the pregnant mother into the RSPCA. All 4 puppies and the Mum have all got homes now though so at least they'll be going to better homes than before

I had to make that hard decision to give up my two dogs, but before that I could never understand why people give animals up. It was a case of I couldn't afford to keep my house so the only way to have the dogs was to live in a box on the street. Plenty of people do this but it's just not for me :/ Still didn't stop the RSPCA volunteers giving me a really hard time though and making me feel even more guilty and low than I already felt

I'm glad you can have Charlie in time for Xmas Jen I hope we can see lots of piccies!

My mate at Uni adopted a stray cat, which she called Rolo. When she moved to Oxford to do a Masters, she couldn't take her into halls so she gave her to me. She started out such a skittish, timid little thing. She was terrified of feet, bolted for the catflap every time she heard a noise and would never sit on laps. God knows what her previous owners must have done to her 5 years later and she's a completely different cat. She spends all evening on my Dad's lap and jumps up on the back of the chair for you to stroke her. Glad she was given another chance.
