Default Am I being thick?

Just bought a card reader off ebuyer for £10 along with a 1gb mini SD card and adapter.
I can't work out how to plug it into the card reader
Just tried every combination I could possibly think of along with the mini SD card in the adapter as well as without.

I've tested it with a Memory Stick Duo and it does work so I don't think it's the adapter.

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/54461 is it and see below for photos of what I've got:

Guessing top left is CF? And bottom right is definitely for Memory sticks.

One mini sd card in the adapter.

I think it's the top one of those two but I can't see how to put it in to get it to recognise it :s
Tried everything I could think of.

I'm probably just being thick :/

It goes in the top right. If it doesnt go in, turn it upside down!

Top left = CF
Bottom Left = Smartmedia
Top right = SD
Bottom right = MS

Well, top right would be the normal place for SD, but the size and contacts are all wrong for full size SD.

Did you try putting the card in both ways up?

What ya buying memory cards for?

I had a card reader that looked very similar to that in the office - the SD slot on mine was knackered so it went back for replacement.

Right, it'll fit in the top right hand slot, but it doesn't recognise it. Just says there is no disc in the drive.
So now I'm not sure what's dud :/ Although guess I could take the mini sd card into work and test it on a phone.

Hmm on second thoughts, looks like it's the mini sd card at fault. Just tested it in my printer and it says card access error.....although not sure if that's just down to it possibly not being formatted.

The card not being formatted shouldn't matter.

Probably the card is dud then. I'll check it in a phone at work just to make sure but sounds like it.
