The great scam that is iPod repair
My iPod is playing up so I took it apart and realised that the audio jack is damaged so I went online to find the part. First stop, ipodrepairstop.com wanted £45 for the repair. Next, I found pdasmart.com and they wanted $45 just for the part. Then I go to good old eBay and find the part for £6! Its going to take me about half an hour at the most to fit it and I could have found out how to take it apart in about 5 minutes on Google (if I didn't already know). I can do it all with my penknife as well, I'm in the wrong job......

Think Different...
It's the same with 90% of their products. Used to deal with a company that repaired Apple kit on behalf of apple and the boss spent more time complaining about Apple than actually working. The £45 you were quoted is probably cheaper than Apple would have charged to do it as well.

I don't really think thats exclusive to apple though to be fair, lots of repair places charge excessive amounts for all sorts in life. Laptops spring to mind immediately but i'm sure other MP3 players are the same .

Laptop charger prices are a real disgrace.

Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped writing about other things and made this your signature, yours could be like mine. Look down, back up. Where are you? You're on Boat Drinks, reading the signature your signature could be like. I'm on a computer. |

Depends who you buy your laptops from - some are better than others.
