Default cmd help

Using cmd to try and set up a bootable USB drive following instructions here but coming a bit unstuck at step 7.

Quote:
# Navigate to the boot directory
cd E:\boot
Now, I tried this in Windows 7 (as Administrator and not) and it seemed not to be working and so I rebooted to XP and it still won't have it.

I've tried it with the DVD and a mounted ISO and whichever way I do it that command is not changing the directory so I can't get to step 8 to run bootsect...

Any ideas why this is happening?

(And yes, I am using my own drive letters )

Just type 'e:'

It's a silly quirk of the Windows shell. If I'm on C:\Windows, and I 'cd d:\music', I change the working directory *on the D: drive* - you still actually have to change to the D drive make that *your* current working directory.

'cd boot', or just 'boot\bootsect nt60' to run it directly, or from anywhere 'g:\boot\bootsect nt60' should start it.
